Writing Prompts for YOU

From 2010 to 2013, I created a series of writing prompts to help writers journal about family life, traditions, history, and current issues. The topics I wrote about then are just as timely today, so I’ve compiled 99 of those prompts into one document for YOU.

My suggestions for using these prompts today are the same as when I first published them at Literary Mama:

  • Open a notebook.
  • Write for 10 minutes.
  • Don’t worry about grammar or punctuation–just write.

You might surprise yourself. Maybe you’ll discover a character for your next short story or a theme for a narrative essay. Or maybe you’ll use the idea to create a special holiday card or photo album for someone in your family. Either way, I know you’ll enjoy rereading your responses months–and years–down the road.

Interested in adding these prompts to your writing routine?

Complete the form below and I’ll send the entire set of 99. (Please limit your selection to one format.) OR Click here to download a PDF of 9 sample prompts first.
